Please go VOTE for us!I'm completely and utterly honest when I say we never enter costume contests. No matter how hard I've worked on something, I never win anything, so I gave up on that long ago. I have a streak of bad luck usually.
But on a whim, two LotR-centric costume contests came up and we entered them. One being Badali (who's results are set to be out this coming Monday), and one for Guardians of Middle Earth to win an X-Box.
The Legolas costume we worked on is in the top 5! I need ALL the votes we can get! Please pass on and share! This costume was a labor of love in SO many ways. Alot of money, blood, sweat and tears....ALL of that is in there, were shed in the making of this. And this is the third version of this costume that Berg as had.
PLEASE GO VOTE FOR US! https://www.facebook.com/Guardiansofmiddleearth?sk=app_451684954848385

Post Dragon*con, looking towards AWA!Dragon*con started off bumpy for me, seeing as how I had a MAJOR malfunction with my Tron Siren shoes! All was fixed Friday afternoon, and we did a pretty cool shoot with Lionelboogy's light cycle! I'm waiting on the professional pictures to pop up from that. We also need to do a photoshoot for those costumes.
If you were there, you may or may not have seen us as Rogue and Gambit on Saturday and Sunday. We had a blast at the X-Men shoot and then the Marvel shoot! You can spot us on Marvel.com from both shoots, and a single shot of Chris as Gambit, via Judy Stephens, here!:
All-in-all, it was better than last year in some parts! We're going to at AWA on Friday night and Saturday. We're going to try our damnedest to make it to the Marvel/DC shoot on Friday night at 6! We're leaving late afternoon, so we shall see!
Up next for us, costume-wise, is Jareth and Sarah from 'Labyrinth'! Hope to have thos

Hope to see you there!
A guide about referencingWe are a group of artists that have noticed there's widespread confusion and misconceptions spreading about the limits and ethics of referencing, so we have decided to help the community by clearing up the idea of what referencing is! -- You can also watch a video about it, just click here!
What is referencing?
When we talk about “referencing,” we could also talk about “searching for information.” Imagine that you have to do an essay for school about plants, animals, planets, in other words, a subject you don’t know much about. What’s the first thing you do before you start writing? Search for information about that subject, either on the internet or books, or ask your family and friends.
In the art world, referencing is exactly the same. It’s recognizing your lack of knowledge about a specific thing and seeking knowledge about the subject, so that you know more t

There you have it! So many awesome reasons to stay connected to the community and to search out new and undiscovered deviants. Share the wealth, my friends. Share it.
DeviantArt and Angry MobsDue to the nature of DeviantArt it is quite easy to perceive that there's "a lot of people" who are upset with any given thing, enough so that you could even believe that "everyone" believes the same thing.
I felt that perhaps the community would like me to explain how DeviantArt views these types of things.
First of all, DeviantArt, Inc. is extremely deliberate. We don't do anything accidentally. Everything that hits the community is the result of a team collaboration that usually take weeks or months to complete. And so when we make mistakes they are felt by a group here or by our whole team.
Things you should know:
First of all you must believe that our team is 100% motivated to ensure that DA is healthy, and that decisions we make turn out to be better than how things were before. Each decision is likely to affect different pockets of people, and so you will always see the group that's unhappy pool together. The happy group is happy, so they don't tend to band toget

Gracias.
